Inspirational Entrepreneur: Sabrina Gonder

Having come from an extensive background in the health and wellness field, Sabrina decided to pursue her desire of working with clients one-on-one and became a Health Coach. She now works in the areas of corporate wellness, sugar addiction and probiotic beverages. Her interview inspires us to get our niche defined as well as set hours for each area of our business to enhance productivity.

What inspired you to become a holistic entrepreneur?

I have been in the health and wellness industry for over 18 years however, I wanted to be able to work with clients one-on-one to help them reach their health goals with loving support.

 

Tell us about your business or practice.

I have 3 programs I offer my clients in addition to doing corporate wellness.  My individual clients receive a customized program fit just for them because every body is different!

 

What is your current business model?

I provide 1:1 face to face coaching, telephone and skype.  I offer group workshops monthly on sugar addiction and making Kombucha as well as doing corporate wellness.

 

What has been one of your favorite moments as a business owner thus far?

Making a positive life long difference in a person’s life.  Collaborating with other wellness practiotioners for a common good.

 

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced in running your business or practice?

Trying to do it all.  Marketing takes away from client time.

 

How have you overcome those challenges?

I have set hours for each area of my business.

 

How do you find new clients?

Word of mouth and referral are best.  Facebook has also been helpful.

 

What have you found to be most effective in securing new clients to sign up for your services?

I offer a complimentary session so they can “try” me out and see if I’m a good fit and what they are looking for.  I also get that same benefit.  I’m not right for everyone.

 

What do you do to keep your existing clients engaged in the long term?

I offer a lot of value.  I continue to invite them to events and share relevant articles and information with them.

 

As your own boss, what is your best strategy for staying focused and productive during your workday?

Writing a to do list and having a professional that I’m accountable to.

 

If you could start your business over again from the beginning, what would you do differently?

I would have defined my niche while still in school.

 

What were some of the first mistakes you made that you would tell a new holistic entrepreneur to avoid?

Define your niche and stick to it and become an expert in that field.

 

What are the top three business tools or resources you couldn’t live without?

Evernote, Google Docs and gmail

 

What has been your most effective method for growing your business?

Teaching classes and being in the community-sharing.
In building your business, was there any specific mistake you made, “oops!” moment, or “I can’t believe I did that!” time that you look back and laugh at now?

I bought a domain app service early on that I didn’t use and paid way too much $ for.

 

What is your favorite indulgence?

Naps

That is has the power to heal itself if we listen and allow it.

 

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?

The flexibility and freedom.  Thinking about going back to an office takes my breath away.
