Inspirational Entrepreneur: Paula Sockolich

Paula S

After years of working as an RN in the ICU, Paula followed her passion for helping others on a deeper, more integrative level. Her interview inspires us to listen to our inner voice and purpose and to view our mistakes not as mistakes per se, but as a learning process that will get us where we need to be.

What inspired you to become a holistic entrepreneur?

I have always been passionate in the ways we heal. After years of working as an RN in the ICU and studying and experiencing many Integrative forms of healing and wellness, I wanted to help heal people in a deeper way. I knew there was something more, something much more powerful than Western Medicine that needed to be pursued and shared with others. I wanted to teach and empower people in the path to wellness, wherever they were on their journey.

Tell us about your business or practice.

I am a Divine Intervention Energy Healer, an ancient form of Energy Healing from the Mayan Lineage. It is a Shamanic Healing that heals on the Quantum Level. It is where the impossible becomes possible. It defies physical law as we know it. It is a direct connection to Source, the creator and healer of all. I’ve experienced it myself and have healed on a very deep level. I have seen many huge shifts and energy blocks removed in clients that were stuck in repetitive patterns for years no matter what they did. I am also a Reiki Master Teacher and Healer and still use this form of healing especially on animals. It is not as powerful as Divine Intervention but is still an integral part of healing.

My mission is to strengthen the bridge between Western Medicine and Energy Medicine, the medicine of the future. We need both. Western Medicine is failing us and is limited. We need to embrace the consciousness that other modalities work. They are ancient and hold a deep wisdom that has not been studied to the extent that it should be in the Western World. I wish to miraculously heal, and restore balance to people’s lives, and to the planet. I want to empower all, to heal to complete wellness, on all levels, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

As an Integrative Health Care Consultant, I have studied many modalities, including, Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy, Meditation, Yoga, Essential Oils, Ayurvedic Medicine, and many more. They are all important in guiding and healing people. Energy is energy. Vibrational Medicine incorporates many modalities. It is just a different language spoken. God is the Master Healer and we are all spiritual beings having a physical experience. We all are vibration. Every living thing is vibration. I am also highly clairvoyant, and a natural born Intuitive Healer. I feel very blessed to do this work. It is why I’m here. I do what I do because it matters.

I also have incorporated Essential Oils into my healing practice as these pure gifts from nature hold a specific vibrational frequency that helps put the body back into balance. People are open to understanding oils on a conscious level. It is a wonderful doorway to open our minds to the true nature of how we heal.

What is your current business model?

My Business Model is a service/product based. I do Energy Healing sessions 1:1 on an hourly basis, in person or long distance. My Essential Oils include informational seminars and classes, following up with clients and working to build my team. This allows me passive income for hourly work. I also have a book being released on Amazon called The Inner Circle Chronicles Book 2, by Anne Deidre. It is available in paperback and on Kindle. I wrote a chapter in it about my near death experience and my transition from Nursing into Energy Healing and becoming an Entrepreneur.

What has been one of your favorite moments as a business owner thus far?

Looking back on how much I have accomplished so far all by myself. Having new clients all the time. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. Getting a heartfelt thank you for the work I do.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced in running your business or practice?

Taking it to the next level online. Learning the tech stuff. Websites, Newsletters, understanding the lingo. Trying to find the right people to help me. People I can trust and do a really good job without breaking the bank. It never stops in this building phase. You just have to keep pushing through it.

How have you overcome those challenges?

I take it day to day and never give up. I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. The right experiences will find you everyday. I talk to God and the Angels all the time. I have major chats with them and allow myself to be guided on this amazing path. When I’m tired, or overwhelmed, I often cry. I’m sensitive. That is my nature. I embrace it. I’m grateful for it. I just have to take a nap or go to bed and get over it. I talk to trusted friends too. Their feedback is important. They are on this journey with me.

How do you find new clients?

I have many clients by word of mouth or just meeting them in person. I share my story and what I do. I am taking my business more online and that will help build it as it reaches many people quickly.

What have you found to be most effective in securing new clients to sign up for your services?

Speaking one on one, directly face to face or on the phone. I like live talk. Email or text banter loses its effectiveness or misinterprets the message. I send them information, via PDF, a welcome letter, essential oil samples. I follow up with them. I’m there to teach and share my knowledge about energy healing, my work and also essential oils. People need to feel connected to who I am and the work I do. You have got to get in front of your people.

What do you do to keep your existing clients engaged in the long term?

I touch base via email or text message. I often send them an inspirational quote that pertains to them and their personal journey. I am building my business to more of an online presence. I will soon connect via monthly or bimonthly newsletter as well.

As your own boss, what is your best strategy for staying focused and productive during your workday?

I have a to do list. A Big Huge One! I write in pencil and make adjustments without making a mess. I triage the stuff into my daily to do list and just keep whacking away at it. It never is completely done, but it’s okay. There is always tomorrow for the stuff you didn’t get done today. I take little breaks, a walk, 5 -minute meditations, healthy food. I drink tea, and sometimes coffee, the really good stuff.

If you could start your business over again from the beginning, what would you do differently?

I always knew what I needed to do, so figuring out what kind of business wasn’t difficult. I am passionate about so many things, but intuitively know this is the path I am supposed to be on. I would have wished I would have understood the computer more, learned the tech lingo and gotten involved in that market a long time ago. I would have bought a MAC and an iphone from the very beginning. I would have hung out at the Apple Store and taken more 1:1 classes. I would have reached out to talk to more entrepreneurs and tech people and I would have picked their brains. It’s a completely different world than what I know.

What were some of the first mistakes you made that you would tell a new holistic entrepreneur to avoid?

I don’t think there are mistakes. They are learning processes that get you where you need to go. However, I would say, do your homework, ask questions, learn as much as you can, don’t quit your day job, be smart, invest in yourself first, save, and don’t be afraid of spending some money when you really have to. Forgive yourself. There will be bumps on the road with getting from here to there. Don’t be afraid of asking a stupid question. Follow your heart. Don’t let others tell you what you do is not important or a sham since it doesn’t fit into the “scientific box” that we are lead to believe, is the be all end all in healing.

What are the top three business tools or resources you couldn’t live without?

Marie Forleo’s BSchool, the Apple Store, Google.

What has been your most effective method for growing your business?

Word of Mouth, classes/in person engagement, now growing it into an online business.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever for done for your business?

Learning to take it online. It’s a very overwhelming learning curve to actually make it happen. Eat, breathe and sleep it on the front burner. No putting it off until later. Make hay while the sun shines. Do it now. The crazy part is that it’s a full time job on top of my fulltime job. It will pay off in the end.

What is your favorite indulgence?

Steam Room, Jacuzzi, Massage, dark chocolate and really good red wine.

Most exotic thing you’ve ever eaten?

Passion Fruit

Most memorable place you’ve ever visited?

Positano Italy. I have a love affair with that place.

Last book you read?

The Motivation Manifesto, by Brendon Burchard

If you could only have one kind of food for the rest of your life, it would be…

Vietnamese/Thai

What is your go-to breakfast?

Organic Eggs and Canadian Bacon

What do you find most fascinating about the human body?

It’s inner wisdom to restore, balance and heal itself. We are much more than our physical body. The spirit, mind, body connection and the power it has in healing, is what we all need to focus on. We need to open our minds, our conscious minds and accept that there is much to our body than just the physical.

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?

Freedom, passion, huge pay out for hard work. Not just financially but on a soul level. Weeding through the chaos and doing something you really love, making it yours, making it matter. Healing and helping people reach their highest Divine potential is a gift. Location independent.

My soul mate once told me: Ignoring your passion is slow suicide. Never ignore what your heart pumps for. Mold your career around your lifestyle not your lifestyle around your career.
